I made this houppeland for Atlantian 12th Night in 2005. It was patterened after Norland's G63 and made of green wool. While all the major seams were sewn by machine the were all butterflied and stiched down by hand to strengthen the garment and give a period finish the to seams. There is no visible machine stiching. It is completely hand finished and closed with pewter buttons. If you would like more information please see my full documentation on this garment.

A Gothic Fitted Gown

I made this Gothic Fitted for a Pas d' armes that the Canton of Elvegast hosted in November 2006. The gown is made of fulled blue wool. It is fully flatlined with a wine colored linen and all the seems have been flat felled by hand. To provide extra support through the torso it has been interlined with an additional layer of heavy weight linen. It is laced closed in the front and the eyelets in the front closure are also hand sewn.

While it's not my regular time period I have to say that I LOVE this dress. It's easy to wear, comfortable, and super flattering. I've worn it through a number of different temperatures and weather conditions (including the very wet Pennsic 2006) and never felt overly hot even though it's fulled wool.

I made this surcoat for my Husband to wear for a Pas d' armes that the Canton of Elvegast hosted in November 2006, the same event that I made my GFG for.

It's made of and fully lined in 7oz linen so that it would stand up to the wear and tear of SCA heavy combat. The fluers and ermine spots were machine embroidered and it was made to display the heraldry of his knight's household, House Fleur and Ermine. Although made to withstand the wear and tear of heavy fighting it is hand finished and there are no visible machine stitches except for the button holes and obvious machine embroidery.

A Hood of Red Wool

I made this red wool hood for my husband in February 2008. It was made for Ymir, one of our local Baronial events that is notorius for cold and often unpredictable weather. It's made of fulled red wool and sewn together with silk thread. While all the seams are machine sewn they were all flat felled by hand to strengthen the garment and give them a period finish. There is no visible machine stiching and the hem was finished with oak leaf dags.
