I finished this coif in the winter of 2006. It is completely handsewn and the embroidery has been done with black silk. The ouline was done in chain stich and the fill stitches were done in double running stitch. The tie was fingerloop braided from cotton. I drew up the embroider pattern myself and based it on several examples of embroidery from the Elizabethan period.
